Marcum Construction, LLC has been building in Flat Rock, Indiana and the counties around it since 2014. It's owner-operated on purpose, because the fastest way to ruin a construction job is to put three layers of people between the person who sold it and the person doing it.
Who we are
A construction company, not a sales company.
Danny Marcum started Marcum Construction in 2014. Since then it's grown the way small-town trades businesses actually grow: one roof, one deck, one remodel at a time, mostly from neighbors of people we've already worked for.
We're licensed and insured, we cover residential, commercial and roofing, and we do the structural work most remodelers subcontract out. That means when something behind a wall turns out to be worse than it looked, there's no waiting two weeks for another company's schedule to open up. We just fix it.
There's no showroom and no sales team. There's a phone number that Danny answers, a truck, a crew, and eleven years of houses in Decatur, Shelby, Bartholomew, Rush and Johnson County that we'd be happy to drive you past.

Price it honestly, in writing
Itemized quotes, every time. If the cheaper option is the right one for your house, we'll say so, even when it costs us the bigger job.
Fix what's underneath
Covering rot with new material is how a contractor makes a job look finished and makes it your problem in three years. We pull it, look at it, and repair it.
One crew, start to finish
The people who start your job are the people who finish it. No revolving door of subs, no "that wasn't our guy" when something's wrong.
Leave it cleaner than we found it
Debris hauled, magnet run over the drive, and a walk-through with you before the last invoice goes out.
Our word on it
Ask us for references. Then actually call them.
When we quote your job we'll give you names, towns and phone numbers of recent customers. Go look at the roof from the road. Ask them what the site looked like at the end of each day. Ask them whether the final number matched the quote.
We'd rather you check than take our word for it.
